How we select and what the limitations are
What we look for
We look for a balanced combination of quality, valuation and growth prospects. We judge every company in the context of its sector. We check the selection continuously, but we do not change it with every small move of the score.
When we change our mind
We keep reviewing the selection; a change of composition needs repeated confirmation. A candidate for the AI selection must stay in the top ten for three checks in a row and, in a regular swap, beat the score of the current company by at least 5 points. In the sector rankings we require two checks in the top five. A fundamental break of the investment thesis can lead to an earlier removal.
How to read the score
The 0–100 score rates the data, not the expected return. We rank companies by quality (40 %), valuation against the sector (30 %), growth (20 %) and momentum (10 %); only financially healthy ones enter the selection. The selection score shows how high a company stands among all rated stocks: the average stock has about 72, and only about the best 1.5 % get above 90. “Top X %” expresses the rank by selection score among all tracked stocks, rounded up. It differs from the financial health score and from the short-term news signal on other pages. The AI analysis summarises why the company is in the selection, and its counterweights. A higher valuation score means a more favourable price against companies in the same sector, not certainty that the stock will rise.
Composition of the selection
The AI selection holds up to 10 companies, at most 4 from the same sector. The separate sector rankings compare up to 5 companies in each of the 11 sectors. An empty place means that another company has not yet met the conditions for entry.
